Historical review<\/a> [\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″ css=”.vc_custom_1625045396385{padding: 30px !important;background-position: 0 0 !important;background-repeat: no-repeat !important;}”][vc_row_inner content_placement=”bottom”][vc_column_inner width=”5\/6″][vc_custom_heading text=”ABOUT US” font_container=”tag:h4|font_size:22|text_align:left|color:%2300a2ac” use_theme_fonts=”yes”][vc_separator color=”custom” align=”align_left” style=”dashed” el_width=”20″ accent_color=”#0ab6c0″][vc_column_text]In 1973, the Pancyprian Welfare Council was established, when the need for coordination of voluntary organizations, policy making in the field of voluntary social welfare and responsible cooperation with the competent services of the Republic of Cyprus in the formulation and implementation of the social policy of the state was identified.<\/p>\n The substantial contribution of the Council in its area of competence, led to the introduction of a new legal framework and status for the Council, with the enactment of the ‘Pancyprian Welfare Council Law’ (152\/89)<\/p>\n The Council\u2019s successful course of action and the expansion of the voluntary sector, indicated the need for a revised legal framework so that the Council could respond more effectively to its role and responsibilities.<\/p>\n Hence, in 2006 the ‘Pancyprian Volunteerism Coordinative Council Law 61(I)\/2006’ was passed, which replaced the Pancyprian Welfare Council Law.
